How do I find the property?
The house address is 4 Impasse Paul, 06400 Cannes. It is a small lane located just off Rue Meynadier between numbers 50 and 52. The front door is the 3rd door on the right as you walk up the lane. GPS coordinates: (43.552423, 7.013367)
If you are walking from the train station - cross the road from the main exit of the train station - turn right - follow the road which will become pedestrianised - about 300m along you'll see the lane on the right between 50 and 52 rue Meynadier.
What do you provide/what do I need to bring?
We provide linen for the beds, one large bath towel per person and hand towels and bathmats in each bathroom. We do not provide beach towels. We provide one hair dryer per room, irons and ironing boards. There is soap at each sink and shampoo/shower gel in each bathroom. We have a total of one travel cot and one high-chair between all our properties which are available without charge on a first-come/first-served basis. In the kitchen you'll find cleaning materials, basic cooking ingredients (oil, salt, pepper etc) as well as tea, coffee and milk. We suggest you bring toothpaste, plug adapters, suntan lotion and beach towels.
How can I transfer from Nice Airport to Cannes?
The fastest and cheapest option is by train. There is a free tram that brings you from either terminal to the Grand Arenas stop for free, where the Nice St Augstin train station is located. A one way ticket to Cannes is about €7 per person and takes 25 minutes. The station is a 350m walk to the house. You can see train times and book your tickets here: TER Trains
The Airport Shuttle Bus goes from both Terminals at Nice. The cost changes quite regularly but is roughly €20 per person each way. It takes about 40 minutes to Cannes train station.
Taxis are available from each airport terminal and cost between €80 and €100 to Cannes. Ubers cost around €60. The address to give the driver is 3 Rue Louis Blanc, 06400 Cannes. This is the closest you can drive to the house. Walk left onto Rue Meynadier and it's the 2nd turn on the left.
Where can I park?
If you are arriving by car, the nearest parking is in Parking Meynadier/Ferrage. It costs about €18 per 24 hours but you can buy weekly passes from €75. It is located around 200m from the house. You can park for 2 hours for free. The parking is quite small, so for nervous drivers, Parking Forville/Suquet might be a better option. It's just a little further away but much easier to park. The prices are the same.
Do I need insurance?
All our rental properties are covered for buildings insurance but this does NOT cover any guest’s belongings or Guest liability. Please take out adequate travel insurance for the duration of your holiday.
How do I get the keys?
You will be informed before arrival if we are meeting you on site or if the keys will be available for you in the key-safe. All guests have the option of a "contactless" arrival where we leave the keys for you at the property - if you would prefer this option, just let us know.
What are the House Rules?
No smoking anywhere in the property. No parties or social gatherings. No pets allowed. Only those guests named on the booking form may spend the night at the property. Strictly no noise from sunset to sunrise.
Emergency numbers?
Simply dial 112 from any phone to be put through to English speaking emergency operators (police, fire, ambulance etc). Then please call us as soon as possible.
Internet access?
There are wifi login details on the dining table of the house. Simply scan the QR code with the camera of your phone and click on the little yellow box that appears on your screen. There are also manual login details for laptops and other devices that cannot scan the QR code. In case of any issues with the service, go to the big black box under the TV, turn it off, then back on (switch at the back of the box) to reboot the service.
Air-Conditioning/Heating?
There is an air-conditioning unit to heat or cool in each room. Please turn off the units if you wish to open the windows. In heating mode, the unit will beep but "do nothing" for about 3-4 minutes when you turn it on whilst the outside unit heats up. It will then start to pump warm air inside.
What to do before departure?
We will send you full details before you leave, but basically we ask you to wash any dishes/set the dishwasher going, remove all opened food and drink from the kitchen and dispose of it and all other bins as per the instructions on the dining table. We then ask you to close exterieur doors and windows and turn off all air-conditioning units. Finally, leave all the keys on the dining table and pull the front door firmly closed behind you.
Supermarkets?
The best option is the Carrefour Market located at 6 rue Meynadier which is open most days from 8:30am to 8pm every day (please check Sunday opening hours in off-peak season). Very close to the house is Marché Forville - a lovely fresh food market open Tuesday to Sunday from 7:30am to 1pm. On the North West corner of the market is a Monop convenience store open 7 days a week.
What's there to do and see in Cannes and around?
The "must dos" in Cannes are walking the Croisette as well as the port behind the Palais de Festivals (where the biggest yachts park) and walking up to the top of Le Suquet (the old town) to take in the views from the castle and church. Then there are the beaches - the main beaches (private and public) on the Croisette, but better still are the large public beach of Plages de Midi - just past the old port of Cannes.
Beyond Cannes there are many choices. By train you can reach Antibes, Nice, Monaco and even Ventimiglia in Italy. We recommend Antibes for an afternoon/early evening but be sure to check the train times home as they stop quite early midweek. You can also get a train or bus to Grasse to visit the world-renowned perfume factories of Grasse.
St Tropez is often a popular destination. There are only 2 options to visit - by car (which can take over 2 hours in peak season!) or by Ferry which costs €65 per person return - the details are here: Boat Trips .
The other boat options are the Isles des Lerins - 2 little islands located just off the South East tip of Cannes and also the Navette Maritimes - a little shuttle boat which runs peak season from Cannes along the south west coast to 2 little fishing villages all day. In our opinion this is the best value and most underrated thing to do in the area with day passes from just €10 per person. Details can be found here.
All of the boat trips depart from Quai Laubeuf at the South tip of the Old Port of Cannes (Le Vieux Port).
Where to eat and drink in Cannes?
The principal areas to eat and drink in Cannes are Rue Felix Faure, Rue Hoche, Rue St Antoine and Quai St Pierre. There are also 2 excellent restaurants on Rue du Commandant André (Bobo and Pastis). We'd recommend you wander around those areas and find places you might enjoy. The best pizza in Cannes is Pizza Papagio (with La Piazza not far behind); Bobo, Pastis and Le Cirque for French Cuisine and Lucky You Saloon for burgers. Rue Felix Faure or Quai St Pierre for pre-dinner drinks.
