Press Release No.1 - 15th March 2007 - Launch of Chic Gîtes
We are delighted to announce the launch of Chic Gîtes, a new experience in rental apartments in central Cannes. On the 12th March 2007, SARL Helen, a professional rental company, was registered in the Cannes Chambers of Commerce. Under the brand name Chic Gîtes, it will market stylish, central and high quality furnished apartments for short-term let in Cannes. We will target turn of the century properties with high ceilings, original features etc and then renovate them to a high, modern standard inside. We will aim to provide air-conditioning, wireless internet access, cable TV and printing facilities in all our apartments. We feel this combination of historical and high-tech will cater for both business travellers and discerning holiday makers, and have no doubt that both will enjoy the central but quiet location of our properties. The company is wholly owned by Niall and Helen Bates, recently arrived in Cannes from London. They will be full time resident in the region and will be your first point of contact during your stay - the company will not use agents or intermediaries.
The company's first property - "La Surprise" at 32 Rue Perrissol in Le Suquet (the old town of Cannes), is a lovely 2-bedroom apartment with south facing balcony. It will now undergo extensive renovations to bring it up the standard we require, and aim to launch it mid-summer this year. It will feature 2 bedrooms, one of which will be available as two twin beds or 1 double, the other as one double. We feel this set-up will cater perfectly for a family with 2 children, 2 couples or 2 professionals during conference periods. We have decided against putting in a sofa-bed as we feel it may crowd the apartment a little. It will have a large shower with a separate toilet and sink. The apartment will be fully air-conditioned with wireless internet. Initially there will not be a television as the old town of Cannes does not yet have the fibre network needed for cable TV but this is expected in 1-2 years at which point we will install a flat-screen TV. There will be printing facilities in the apartment.
The apartment is exceptionally quiet, sitting back from the road in the heart of the old town. It is a 4-5 minutes walk to the beach, 7 minutes to the Palais de Festivals and just 1 minute from the restaurants of the old town. With its high ceilings and stylish interior, this apartment epitomises the type of apartment we are looking for. The company's primary means of communication will be through our website www.accommodationcannes.com where you will find details of our apartments, availability calendars and, unusually, full details of our Rates including conferences and the Film Festival - no need to enquire direct, all the details will be there for you to see. The website will launch at the start of June 2007 with pictures of the newly renovated apartment at 32 Rue Perrissol. The apartment will be available to rent from the 1st August 2007 - weekly rates will start from €750 off peak to €1250 in peak season. Conference rates will be published when the website launches in June.
